Happy Hanukkah! Hanukkah (also called the Festival of Lights) honors the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, after a victory by a Jewish rebel army over the Syrians in 165 B.C.E.
The holiday extends for the next eight days; people light the candles of a menorah and exchange presents to celebrate this time. For more info on the history and traditions of the holiday, visit www.history.com/content/hanukkah.
As always, flowers are a lovely way to commemorate the days and, for Hanukkah arrangements, the best choice is white or blue flowers or a combination of the two. (These are also the colors of Israel's flag.)
With white flowers representing purity and blue flowers standing for serenity, your floral gesture is bound to be appreciated.
